June is the face of our organisation and has been nicknamed “Mrs Carnival”, having been involved with Frome Carnival for over 50 years. June’s roles are numerous - she chairs our committee, represents the committee at events and takes full charge of running our finances, including sourcing sponsorship.
Richard, or ‘Jos’ to his friends, is a key part of the committee and a long-term supporter of the Carnival. Jos is our vice-chairperson, a Wessex rep and he also takes charge of organising the Carnival Vendors.
Sharon has been involved with Frome Carnival for many years and is our secretary: writing our agendas, minutes, letters and much more. She also helps organise our evening marshals.
A newer member of our committee, Emily runs our social media accounts and spends much of her time writing press releases. She also organises our annual fun day and helps to recruit volunteers to support the Carnival, including organising the sale of light-up goods.
Kevin has been involved in both organising and participating in Carnivals for many years. As the Procession Secretary, Kevin has the key job of organising the entrants for both processions, liaising with local groups and bands and planning the actual processions.
Another long-standing member of Frome Carnival Committee, Mandy has the job of organising our large panel of independent judges. She also plans our Ambassadors Selection and compiles the annual Carnival programme.
Jason’s role as Chief Marshal is key for the safety of both participants and crowds. He is responsible for the safe running of the Carnival itself, taking charge of our volunteer Marshals and ensuring all road closures are legal.
Sharon or ‘Shaz’, has been involved with Carnival for many years and acts as our Chaperone to our young Ambassadors, accompanying them on the various functions they’re invited to throughout the year.
Keith, a long term member of the committee, organises the afternoon procession’s collectors and marshals, alongside taking care of the trophies. Keith is also our second Wessex rep.
Another newer member of our Committee, James designed and maintains our website. James takes charge of writing much of our health and safety documentation and risk assessments, alongside working closely with Emily in both the selling of light up toys and organising the Fun Day.
A former Carnival Granny, Carolyn loves Carnival! She currently organises our 100 Club and helps out at our fundraising events.

We are also very grateful to the following Committee Members and supporters – without whom, we would be lost!
